Free 3D models for Rhino - Best Online Resources

We know that free 3D models for Rhino are always in demand! We use these models in your projects are and they are such great assets to enrich our 3D scenes.

There are a couple of websites that offer both high and low poly models. These assets can help a lot when populating your scenes and  creating realistic renderings in architectural projects.

These libraries contain a wide variety of 3D models from doors and windows to complex furniture elements, vegetation and cars... So let’s start!

One of the biggest resources of high quality free 3D models on the web. There are both free and paid versions of the models. It’s based on different categories. There’s even a possibility to download whole scenes with lots of detailed models including vegetation. Most models are already materialized and prepared for Vray and Corona rendering engine. This is my favourite, by the way.

Initially made for BIM programs like Revit, but equally good for using in your 3D modeling and visualization projects. Very good organization and a lot of possible filters to sort out the models.

bim object

Big community of 3D modelers where anyone can share their 3D model with the community. There are both premium (paid) and free 3D models. Most of the 3D models are high quality. Great for 3D visualization.

cg trader

Huge collection of 3D models for SketchUp. However it is difficult to find highly detailed and complex high quality models. All models can be imported to Rhino, recommendation is to use Sketchup 8 file type for best results.

3D warehouse

Big collection of free 3D models that can be filtered based on company, master format or by product. These 3D models are available in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM) and SketchUp file type, but can be easily be imported to Rhino as well.

These were just a few websites that we have personally used and that we can vouch for. Of course, there might be more free 3D models for Rhino that can be found throughout the web, and we're always interested in testing new platforms. Feel free to suggest your favourites!
