If you’re a Revit user, you’ve probably heard of Dynamo and you know that it allows us to use parametric design within Revit.

Even though Dynamo is a good tool, it does have limits. If we compare it with Grasshopper, it becomes clear that the community around Grasshopper is much stronger.

Revit has been one of the most popular BIM tools for a long time and is truly a king when it comes to the construction phase of the project and documentation.

However, it’s quite rigid and limited when it comes to modeling geometry that is not rectangular. It’s definitely not the best choice for the initial design phase of the project.

Now, let’s answer that question from earlier, do you need to know Revit and Grasshopper in order to understand this Rhino Inside Revit Course?

The simple answer is YES.

In order to fully comprehend what we’re doing with Rhino Inside, you should be at least an intermediate-level user of Revit and Rhino/Grasshopper.

If you don’t understand how to create Grasshopper scripts on your own and how to create a family from scratch in Revit, it wouldn’t make much sense to learn how to connect Grasshopper and Revit.
